When I was 21 years old, I did not know that a journey I was going to make to Salzburg would change my life. It took place in 2000, from August 12 to 26, and I was a bit frightened because of the fact that it was the first time I was going to travel alone. Furthermore, as taking a plane from Alicante to Salzburg was really expensive, I decided to take a plane to Munich and then a bus to Salzburg... And, although I was on the point of missing my bus, I finally got on it and it was the beginning of my adventure.
In the first place, I remember arriving at a students’ residence where I had booked a double-room. Therefore, I knew quite a few students of music who were going to stay there during those days. It was such a great experience to meet people from other countries and cultures as well as to realize that all of us had very similar interests.
In the second place, I remember going in the mornings and afternoons to the Mozarteum in order to have my piano and chamber music lessons. In spite of the fact that I could get by in English, my teacher was from Argentina so we talked in Spanish and it was so easy for me to understand his instructions. Apart from that, every student could attend every lesson, so all of us would do it.
All things considered, I highly recommend this experience to everyone who is studying music because it will be such a significant event which you will never forget and it will turn out to be a turning point in your life. Moreover, you can always keep in touch with the people you met there, so that you can continue remembering those facts whenever you want.
