A letter of enquiry

Dear sirs,
I am a school student who would like to book a room at your hotel in order to have an end-of-term party. Therefore, I would like to receive some information about it.
In the first place, I saw your advertisement and I understood that there was a large room available to hire which was also suitable for parties. But I would like to know if it will be big enough for fifty people. Besides this, I would like to know how much it will cost and if there would be any reduction for students.
In the second place, I read that you could provide some food. In our case, we would only ask you for some snacks, like crisps or nuts. But I would like to know if you could also provide us with a few soft drinks.
In regard to the date of booking, it will be on Saturday, June 30th and the party will start at about 8 p.m. I would like to know how late we could finish as well.
Finally, as we could not do without music and dancing, I would like to know the kind of music which will be available for us. Moreover, we would like to have a disco but we do not know if it would be included in the price. Anyway, you must not worry about it because I promise you not to make any noise at all.
I look forward to hearing from you. If you prefer ringing me up, I let you know my phone number: 374107689. Thank you very much for your attention. Yours faithfully,

Victoria Marco

Novel for next term

The book you are expected to read for next term (January-February) is Frozen Pizza and other slices of life.Cambridge University Press. Advanced. The idea is that you summarize the different chapters for commenting them in class afterwards. Thus providing you with material to practise the oral skill, and at the same time it will enable me to assess you.

A journey to Salzburg.Avanzado 1

When I was 21 years old, I did not know that a journey I was going to make to Salzburg would change my life. It took place in 2000, from August 12 to 26, and I was a bit frightened because of the fact that it was the first time I was going to travel alone. Furthermore, as taking a plane from Alicante to Salzburg was really expensive, I decided to take a plane to Munich and then a bus to Salzburg... And, although I was on the point of missing my bus, I finally got on it and it was the beginning of my adventure.
In the first place, I remember arriving at a students’ residence where I had booked a double-room. Therefore, I knew quite a few students of music who were going to stay there during those days. It was such a great experience to meet people from other countries and cultures as well as to realize that all of us had very similar interests.
In the second place, I remember going in the mornings and afternoons to the Mozarteum in order to have my piano and chamber music lessons. In spite of the fact that I could get by in English, my teacher was from Argentina so we talked in Spanish and it was so easy for me to understand his instructions. Apart from that, every student could attend every lesson, so all of us would do it.
All things considered, I highly recommend this experience to everyone who is studying music because it will be such a significant event which you will never forget and it will turn out to be a turning point in your life. Moreover, you can always keep in touch with the people you met there, so that you can continue remembering those facts whenever you want.

A thank you note

Just a quick note to say thank you to Vero for taking the trouble to create this blog for us. As I told her once, for me this ,the world of computers,is something from another world,extraordinary,amazing,unbelievable,wonderful.. I hope not to let you down and to be able to live up to your expectations. To begin with, just a couple of writings from your classmates, who have taken the trouble to write them out for us. And in the near future, I hope to be able to send some more contributions.

Welcome everybody...
