Muchas gracias a todos

Hola.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Last summer, my son spent his summer holidays in your workcamp. In fact, I enrolled him there because I had heard of it previously.

However, when my son came back dome he told me that the real conditions of your workcamp were unacceptable.

Firstly, the working conditions were very hard because the students had to work long hours for little money. Secondly, the places where they had to sleep were very old and there was only a shower for all of them. Finally, the food was scarce and limited to vegetables and fruit.

Obviously, these kinds of characteristics are not logical and should be modified. In particular, the maximum number of students should be limited to fifteen, they should not work at weekends and their lodgings should be made of wood and have several showers inside.

I hope you think my suggestions are understandable and can be implemented in the near future.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing with regard to the recent article published in the newspaper which you edit and titled “Student Slaves at Workcamp”.

First of all, allow me to introduce myself: my name is Monique Dubois, I come from France and I worked at an International Workcamp for two months last summer.
I strongly disagree with that report because it is full of inaccuracies and mistakes which I deny firmly.

To begin with, we were only 15 students from all over Europe and we were accommodated in modern, wooden buildings with enough facilities to have a really comfortable stay.

Furthermore, we were required to work not only exclusively picking fruit and vegetables but researching on sustainable and ecological crops. We carried out our work only in the morning and our remuneration was enough to permit us not to borrow a student loan for the next course.

On the other hand, we had fun and there was a great atmosphere . What is more, I’m proud to say the group struck up a close friendship.

To sum up, I would be grateful if a rectification could be published in your newspaper as soon as possible. I hope, moreover, that you will print this email together with an apology to the organizers of the Workcamp.

Thank you for your kindness towards me.

Yours faithfully

Formal e-mail

Dear sirs,

I am writing to you in order to complain about the dreadful conditions that some foreign students had to bear at the ‘international workcamps’ last summer.

To start with, there were 30 foreign students working long hours for little more than pocket money during all summer. In my opinion, there should be no more than 15 students and they should work only in the mornings and be free at weekends.

A further problem that I think should be solved is the one related to the old tents the visitors to these workcamps had to sleep in. Moreover, there was only 1 shower available for those 30 students. I urge you to build some modern wooden buildings with several showers, so that the people who live there will be able to do it in healthy conditions. Additionally, it is recommended that you promote fun and a great atmosphere between them.

I hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.

Yours faithfully,

Victoria Marco

Dear Mr. Brown,

Thank you very much for your letter with reference to the information about your new holiday arrangements. First of all, we want to let you know how grateful we are for the treatment you have given us regarding the discount of 150 euros you are offering. But we cannot accept these new conditions for the following reasons.

Firstly, we wanted to go to Granada, because we have not been there yet. On the other hand, we have visited Sevilla several times. So, that is the main reason why we cannot accept this change of destination.

Secondly, regarding the dates, the change would be a problem because we will be working the week you propose (from Monday May 18th to Sunday May 24th). Our holidays end Sunday May 17th.

We know that the cancellation of the package in Granada is not your fault, but we are not interested in this new offer.

I would appreciate it if you could contact me on 685448235 to discuss this problem

Yours sincerely,

Laura Segovia Martín

Hi again!! I became so happy when Patri asked us to write a biography about someone we admired, because I had thought of doing it for my Italian lessons before, but it wasn't possible until that moment, so I immediately thought it was a fantastic chance to let you know about a person I admire so much. He's an Italian showman, but mainly a great person. I hope you to enjoy your reading, and please ask me for any information you want to know about him.

Love,

fiore (of course I took my nick from him ;))

Rosario Fiorello is probably the best Italian showman. He was born in Catania in 1960. Just after finishing High School, he started to work as an entertainer at some tourist resorts, where he became one of the most appreciated tour operators. His TV career began at Deejay Television in 1989. In 1991, Rosario brought out his first album called ‘Veramente Falso’ (150.000 CD copies). At the same time, he hosted the radio programme ‘W Radio Deejay’. Fortunately, it was such a great success that it allowed him to produce two audio cassettes with his most amusing interventions (70.000 copies). After that, Fiorello brought out a new album called ‘Nuovamente Falso’. In 1992, he started to host the ‘Karaoke’ on Italia1 TV regularly, with which he expected to advance his TV career. Luckily, his great audience response led him to win the ‘Telegatto’ award for this TV programme. Later, in 1995, Rosario took part in the San Remo’s Festival with the song ‘Finalmente tu’.But one of the most important events in his professional life took place in 2001, when he decided to host a TV programme called ‘Stasera Pago io’, where he started to make the most of his several talents: he was a presenter, a humorist and a singer at the same time. In 2004, Rosario took up this TV programme again, took part in the dubbing of the cartoons film ‘Garfield’ and brought out a new album called ‘A modo mio’. After that, he decided to focus his career on the radio programme ‘Viva Radio 2’ and his show ‘Volevo fare il ballerino’. In my opinion, Rosario Fiorello is not only a great showman, but also a very special person. Since I ‘discovered’ him in 2002, he has been such a wonderful guide, enabling me to immerse myself in the Italian langage and culture. I consider him a genius both professionally and personally, and I am sure we will continue enjoying his intelligent humour, exceptional musicality and great charisma for years to come.

I don't wanna miss a thing (Aerosmith)

Hi everybody!! I've just entered here (at last!) and I'd like to share a song with you. I'm sure you know it, so it'll be easy for you to follow its lyrics. I've tried to upload the video from youtube, but I don't know how to do it at the moment (although saved a copy with Real Player and then went there to finish the uploading...). Anyway, I give you the link if you want to watch the video: http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo_0UXRY_rY
Kisses and please keep in touch also outside our English class!:D

fiore

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
Far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Well, every moment spent with you
Is a moment I treasure
I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
Lying close to you
Feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes and thank
God we're together
And I just wanna stay with you
In this moment forever, forever and ever
I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
I don't wanna miss one smile
I don't wanna miss one kiss
Well, I just wanna be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just wanna hold you close
Feel your heart so close to mine
And stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time
Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
'Cause I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
Don't wanna close my eyes
Don't wanna fall asleep, yeah
I don't wanna miss a thing
